Soundescape is committed to creating breathtaking soundtracks.  Using a blend of live instrumentation, virtual instruments and synthesizers, Soundescape can enhance or create any mood using various musical techniques. Kamila Nasr has been writing music for 20 years. She’s a multi-instrumentalist who has studied music in different parts of the world including Brazil, China, and Afghanistan. She sings in several languages and composes in multiple genres. She has a passion for working with other artists to bring their visuals to life through music. She has composed for film, circus, advertisements and websites as well as experienced in sound design and music engineering.

ABOUT KAMILA NASR

Kamila is a Canadian singer and composer who is accomplished in a variety of styles and repertoire. She is known for her work as a solo harpist, thereminist, and her skills backing up other musicians on flute, guitar and keyboard. She spent many years working out of Beijing where she was a member of music groups; 蘇紫旭 & The Paramecia, Ask your Sister, Sambasia, and Girassol. She has toured extensively throughout the Americas, Asia, and France. She has also had the honour of performing and touring with rock artists Zhang Chu (张楚), and Cui Jian (崔健)

Her latest music project is ASHK, a band with her sisters Ariana and Sahara Nasr, and Ken Shorley. ASHK is based out of Canada and performs many styles of music from around the world.

Kamila has a diploma from RAC in sound engineering and has a passion for composing soundscapes. She has composed soundtracks for Circus Syzygy, with whom she performed at the 2012 International Circus Festival in Toulouse France. She has composed for documentaries including Virtuoso, a documentary on the theremin in which she was the featured thereminist. Her most recent project was the soundtrack for Ariel Nasr’s The Mosque: A Community’s Struggle, a documentary on the Quebec City shooting.

Kamila resides in Montreal, Quebec, where she has a home studio.
